Grump, The Other, Other Dwarf

I'm not feeling very funny today. In fact, I'm in a pretty bad mood. Blogging makes it all better.

Mother's Day was lovely. Today I have to do all the work that wasn't done yesterday plus today's chores.

Yeah. Happy Mother's Day to you, too.

I did see "Made of Honor" with Dapoppins yesterday. We've done this for two years now, ditching the family and going to see a movie together for Mother's Day. She and I have been friends for 20 years and I still am not used to her talking in the theater. She's just loud enough that patrons turn around to give us the stink-eye.

THEN one Sonic-Eared Patron will whip around at every sound we make. For instance, unnecessary things similar to breathing, blinking, and even sitting wrong.

I stare back at them. I want to tell them I'm going to kill them with my brain. I know it's annoyingly juvenile but it beats a good stabbing or scissor kicking their head into the front row.

I'll be back after my house is clean.

Hey, one can't always be happy, can they? Nope...

You know, I had the same kind of day today...and it's raining, so that makes me even less happy.

Did you enjoy "Made of Honor?" I loved it! I'm taking my mom to see it for her birthday (even though I've already seen it and will most likely buy it). : )

Wasn't that a fabulous movie!? I'm glad you were able to sneak away, and I hope you're smiley again soon, but don't worry, we all have those days. I hope yours gets better very soon.

oh i don't know.... "kill them with my brain" had me giggling!

one ALWAYS needs a lovely friend who doesn't mind her voice in the theater.

There's nothing wrong with being disgruntled dammit!

Next time you go to a show with Dapoppins, bring a small flashlight with you.
Whenever someone turns around place the flashlight at your chin and point up so you get these weird shadow effecs.
Then growl and quote a line from Hamlet or The Exorcist.
That should fix them.

Yep...I've been grumpy for two weeks, and I'm still grumpy-and still haven't cleaned up after mother's day...

If you search my blog for Elsie Mae, the ARP? you will find a funny post about my mom at the movies. (Your post took me back.) I don't have the heart to chastise her! I like your tradition! I would like to start a tradition in which everyone just leaves me alone in my house for a day as a Mother's Day gift. That would be so SWEET! Guess I'll have to suffer through all the attention, instead :)

Over from Dapoppins--nice to meet you. Glad I wasn't the only one to have a rotten, messy housed, Mother's Day.:) And I must say, having built multiple computers (though not the laptop I am working on--that was a gift from Mr. Wonderful) I got absolutely sick of trojans and malware and moved to Ubuntu on both Cranky (my laptop) and the kids internet machine (their other is just for kids games which have plenty of junk built in--and it is happy ever after.:)
